Can I sign up for gas services?

If you already have a fully completed gas installation (with the corresponding certificate from the installer), you can activate natural gas supply to your property through a gas retailer. The retailer of your choice will take care of sending us your request to activate your natural gas service.

You can contract your gas supply in two ways:

  • You can contract your gas supply with a retailer, who will offer you their own rates and conditions. In the de-regulated market, companies set the price of energy and consumers choose the rate that works best for them.
  • You can pay the last-resort tariff. The last-resort tariff is set by the government. Consumers whose annual usage is less than 50,000 kWh and who are connected to gas mains with a pressure of 4 bar or less are eligible for the last resort tariff. There are two different last resort tariffs, determined by customers’ annual usage:
    • T.1 is for customers who use up to 5,000 kWh/year. This is the typical usage range found in homes with natural gas cookers and/or boilers.
    • T.2 is for customers who use between 5,000 kWh/year and 50,000 kWh/year. This is the typical usage range found in homes with natural gas heating.

The following companies are designated as last resort retailers:

  • 1. Endesa Energía XXI, S.L.U.
  • 2. Gas Natural S.U.R. SDG, S.A.
  • 3. EDP Comercializadora de Último Recurso, S.A.U.
  • 4. Iberdrola Comercialización de Último Recurso, S.A.U.

If you’d prefer, you can choose to contract your gas supply at a rate and under conditions you agree upon freely with a retailer.
