Gas cooking systems

We have the solution

The leading chefs worldwide therefore opt for cooking on natural gas as the perfect solution when preparing their different dishes, whether in the oven, boiled, steam, grilled, stir-fried or fried.

And not only because the results are extraordinary, but also as natural gas cookers offer great advantages in terms of energy efficiency and consumption, which leads to significant savings.

Efficiency, saving money and the environment

More efficient and cost-effective:

Buying a natural gas cooker, with all its features, is much more cost effective than getting an electric one. Along with its lower energy consumption, that makes this type of cooker the cheapest option, with savings of over 30% compared to other systems, according to different studies.

More environmentally friendly:

Natural gas cookers are the most efficient option on the market, as they are the least polluting ones and emit 250 grams fewer of CO2 per kWh consumed than glass-ceramic hobs and 160 fewer than induction cookers. Thus, and according to the IDAE (Institute for the Diversification and Saving of Energy), natural gas cookers are the greenest and most environmentally friendly.

How do they work?

Natural gas stovetops have an injector, a device that allows the gas to circulate towards a cavity where it is mixed with the air that it needs for combustion to occur. This gas and air mix is expelled through the burner holes, when it is then burnt. You can regulate the strength of the flame by adjusting the gas valve.

The majority of the natural gas hobs are stainless steel or enamel, but there are also more modern models with glass ceramic or glazed hobs on the market.

As regards the burners, they are usually round and of different sizes, which is important in this case as the larger the size, the greater the heat. There are cookers with two, three or more burners and even some in a special shape, such as long ones for specific uses.

They can also have griddles and a natural gas oven, with upper and lower burners.

In general, the hobs, griddles and oven are lit using matches or lighters. There are even some cookers that come with their own “electric spark”, but this mechanism is not very compatible with using natural gas.

Thanks to the calorific value of these natural gas cookers, all the burners, griddle and oven can be used simultaneously, meaning that you can cook different dishes at the same time, thus saving on time and money.

Ventilation

Gas cooking systems

Good ventilation is fundamental in rooms with natural gas cookers, griddles and ovens. The state of the ventilation grilles needs to be regularly checked to make sure that they are always in perfect working order, with no obstructions and the air can always get through the outlet.

Functions of the grilles:

  • They allow air to flow in for the combustion to occur.
  • They let the gas escape in the case of a leak.

Natural gas is lighter than air and therefore tends to rise and be quickly dispersed in the atmosphere. Therefore, the grille must be near the ceiling in the case of natural gas cookers.

Advantages

Gas cooking systems
  • Quicker and greater control of the heat: Thanks to the speed of the heat source, natural gas cookers mean that the calorific value needed is obtained instantly and constantly. The heat can therefore be easily and appropriately adapted to each dish.

  • More tasty food: Thanks to how easy it is to control the heat, the food keeps all its properties, along with the colour of the raw ingredients. That means better textures and more intense flavours, which results in healthier and more wholesome cooking.

  • More versatile: You can use any type of pots, pans and frying pans, even cast iron, earthenware or stainless-steel ones, on natural gas cookers.

  • More guarantees: Thanks to its continuous supply, natural gas guarantees you can cook without interruptions.

Components of the natural gas cooker:

  • Natural gas hobs: Modular cookers, with one or two burners, to hobs of different sizes are available on the market. They all come with a range of finishes: stainless steel or enamel and glass ceramic or glazed materials.
  • Natural gas ovens: Many professionals believe that you get more intense flavours using this type of oven.
