From an innovation perspective, since its inception, the company has promoted projects that provide competitive, high-quality solutions in order to move towards the new European energy scenario of a more energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable society.

AREAS OF ACTION

In order to move towards this new scenario, which will be mandatory, four priority lines of research and development have been proposed and endorsed by the European gas industry.

1.- KEEP IT RUNNING

Build, operate, and maintain natural gas networks in optimal working order. Through the development of projects focused on achieving better and more economical O&M activities in terms of the integrity and safety of gas infrastructure.

2.- ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE

Improved energy and environmental efficiency. Through the development of projects on the impact that gas activity has on the environment and the impact that environmental regulations themselves will have on the gas business.

3.- MARKET DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT

Ensuring that natural gas networks carry more energy. Through the development of projects based on new gas applications, both mobile and stationary, that increase the consumption of natural gas from the network and new end uses of CNG or LNG to achieve new business models.

4.- FUTURE ENERGY SYSTEMS

Ensuring that natural gas networks continue to be used in the future. By developing projects based on the circulation of renewable gases (biomethane) and new gases (hydrogen) through natural gas networks, which will guarantee future activity, involving the development of Smart Grids, Power to Gas, and Big Data Systems.
