{"id":7101,"date":"2018-05-07T08:48:49","date_gmt":"2018-05-07T07:48:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nortegas.es\/sin-categorizar\/premian-a-nortegas-por-un-proyecto-de-idi-de-gas-natural-renovable\/"},"modified":"2019-05-24T12:41:59","modified_gmt":"2019-05-24T11:41:59","slug":"nortegas-awarded-a-prize-for-its-rdi-renewable-natural-gas-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nortegas.es\/en\/press-note\/nortegas-awarded-a-prize-for-its-rdi-renewable-natural-gas-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Nortegas awarded a prize for its R&#038;D&#038;I renewable natural gas project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The International Gas Union (IGU) has awarded the company the Innovation Prize in the \u201cGas and Renewables\u201d category<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The company\u2019s project provides a new solution for the injection of biomethane or renewable gas in the natural gas distribution networks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Bilbao, 7 May 2018.-<\/em> <strong>nortegas<\/strong><strong> Energ\u00eda Distribuci\u00f3n <\/strong><em><strong>has recently received the Innovation Prize for this project in the\u00a0 \u201cGas and Renewables\u201d category, awarded by the\u00a0 International Gas Union (IGU)<\/strong><\/em><strong>.<\/strong> <strong>The prize is in recognition of the company\u2019s solution, as part of the Smart Green Gas R&amp;D&amp;I project, to inject renewable gas or biomethane in the natural gas distribution network.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>nortegas<\/strong> took the prize after competing in its category with a further 25 short-listed innovation projects. In addition to winning its category, it is the only Spanish company to be a prize-winner in this contest.<\/p>\n<p>The company will be presented with the prize during the 27<sup>th<\/sup> World Gas Conference, which will be held in Washington from 25 to 29 June. \u00c1ngel M\u00aa Guti\u00e9rrez, the <strong>nortegas<\/strong> manager of the Smart Green Gas R&amp;D&amp;I project, will showcase the prize-winning project to the leading representatives of the gas industry worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Biomethane is growing in importance as a \u201cgreen\u201d and alternative energy in Europe. <strong>nortegas<\/strong>\u2018s project allows -in a cost-effective, smart and automatic way \u2013 the dosed injection of this renewable gas to be mixed with the conventional gas,\u00a0 so that it complies with the standards required to be used in the natural gas distribution networks.<\/p>\n<p>A simulation tool has thus been developed, in partnership with Tecnalia, to select the appropriate technologies to inject biomethane at Regulations and Measurement Stations.
